Our vision for Southend Road is a high-quality sustainable development which will reflect the local architectural design and character of Wickford and Shotgate

Our vision will:

• Minimise impact on the countryside through delivering up to 270 homes in the most sustainable location for Wickford and Shotgate
• Provide high quality, energy efficient, homes suitable for the young and old, families and first time buyers in a green and safe environment, close to amenities and employment
• Create a network of green spaces with new wildlife areas, tree planting and hedgerows
• Be landscape-led with key hedgerows, woodland and trees retained to form the basis of our open space strategy and creation of green corridors
• Connect new walking, cycling and exercise routes and trials to existing public footpaths and open spaces to provide all-year access
• Include sensitively designed formal and informal children’s play areas
• Create a new nature reserve
